# Telephony

> Phone numbers in Talkif — buying them, bringing your own SIP trunk or Twilio account, WhatsApp Business Calling, routing inbound and outbound calls, and where calls are served from.

A flow needs a line to live on. Talkif gives you three ways to get one, and they can be mixed freely in one account — a purchased US number for the support line, your existing SIP trunk for the numbers customers already know, and a WhatsApp Business number for the customers who'd rather not dial.

Whatever the source, a number in Talkif has the same lifecycle: it's **connected** to one published flow for inbound calls, it can be used as the **from** number for outbound calls if it has the voice capability, and it carries its own recording override.
